What do you need to keep your ebike clean?
1. Warm water
2. Clean microfiber cloth
3. Bike cleaner (we use muc-off)
4. bike chain degreaser & lubricant
4 easy steps to clean your ebike
1) Cleaning your ebike frame
Use your towel and a dedicated bike cleaner to clean off any dirt, be careful to wipe the grit off gently so it doesn’t scratch your frame. For stubborn debris like dried mud, you may need to use water to rinse the frame and tires. If the metal or electrical components on the bike get a little wet, simply pat these areas dry with a towel.
2) Cleaning your ebike chain

If your ebike has a traditional chain and derailleur set up like on our Ultimate T10 or Medeo T10 models, you can use a bike chain degreaser to clean the lubricant and debris off your ebike chain. After degreasing, make sure to follow up with a fresh coat of chain lubricant. A little goes a long way with chain lubricant and you’ll want to focus the application on the roller of the chain. Select the button below for more detailed information on bike chains.
3) Cleaning your Gates Carbon Belt
If your ebike features the Gates Carbon belt (paired with an internally geared hub) like in our Ultimate C8, Ultimate C380, or Eclipse C380 models, simply use water or your ebike cleaner and a microfiber towel to gently dislodge any debris. The beauty of the Gates Carbon belt is that it is extremely low maintenance so greasing and decreasing is unnecessary and not advised for this component.
4) Electrical and metal components on your ebike
Make sure to keep the electrical and metal components on your ebike as dry as possible. if you notice some water on them, dry these areas with a towel to prevent rusting or malfunction. Our bikes are durable and designed to handle rough and wet Dutch weather so if components do get wet, don’t sweat it. Just follow these simple tips to assure the longevity of your ebike.
Remember:
Do not use a pressure washer.
Dry all electrical components.
Don’t neglect your bike.
